We LOVE Sunday family day around here. It was one of those great days where everything we did just seemed to hit the spot; like hitting the farmers market, out for coffee, a walk in the park, and getting the first phase of Andrew's garden all planted. Happy Sunday to all!

7 hours?

Big news today is that this darling child actually slept for 7 hours straight last night. Yes, from 10:30pm-5:30am. We woke up asking: Did we get up at 1, 3, 4am? and just forget? Did this really just happen? Uh, what is going on? He is only 6 weeks old!

I forgot what it was like to sleep for more than a 3 1/2 hour stretch at one time (and we even feel spoiled with that!). By all means, we are fully expecting and prepared to wake up at any moment to lovingly soothe our baby, so this was just a huge surprise for us this morning. The long sleeping stretch was preceeded by a day where he did not sleep at all, so we know he was very tired and possibly going through a growth spurt because of his daytime appetite and mood, but still would never have expected this. I suspect it was just a rare and wonderful treat mixed in with all the other 'normal/sleepless' nights of parenting an infant, but whatever the case, I am hoping it was a step in the right direction toward some healthy sleeping habits.

Needless to say, we may have had a little more pep in our step while enjoying our Saturday!

A Million More

Bennett and I are so lucky to be able to spend so many fun moments together during my maternity leave. We seem to keep our days full doing various activities and learning all about the world from each other. He teaches me to live in every moment, and always gives me a million new reasons to smile. And then a million more. I cherish every walk and 'talk' that we have, and so enjoy traveling through this world with him as my companion and son.

This morning we headed out for a visit with Ed and the Klines. As you can see, the kiddos were pretty pumped to meet each other, and little do they know that they may just be each other's "future prom dates", as Ed likes to say. It was great to hang with everyone and see little cutie Brooke again.

All ready to go to the doctor...while there today we learned that I weigh 9 lbs, 5.5 oz. so the doc is no longer concerned about my weight gain! Go Me!

Texas Turpins Come To Visit!

It was great to spend the weekend with Uncle Dan, Aunt Kristen, and Cousin Kate who came up from Texas to visit! We had fun going out for dinner, playing with the little ones, and catching up on some family time. Thanks for the birthday celebration too - how sweet!

We had a few other visitors over the weekend too - Bennett is sure lucky that he has so many people who love him!
