Pumpkin Season
It was such a beautiful evening so we decided to take a quick trip to the pumpkin patch to get the first round of our pumpkins and gourds for the season. It was a small patch with a selection to match but we definitely made the most of our visit. Bennett loved all the dirt and the chance to run around in a field full of pumpkins and corn. We are excited for all the festive activities ahead now that fall has arrived!

Back to Work for Daddy
Andrew goes back to work tomorrow and we sure will miss having him home!! I have loved all the time we got to spend together with the kids and all the work and attention he has put into making the week so enjoyable for all of us. I will miss our morning lattes together, the mini nap sessions, the stories, laughter and comfort he gives to the kids in his own special way, the security of having the extra pair of hands to help at any moment.....
We had a great last day off together today and headed out for a lunch date with Bryn, followed by some shopping, then were joined by friends at the house later who kindly brought us dinner and had smiles on their faces while meeting the baby for the first time and watching Bennett do his non-stop entertaining. What a wonderful day - we wish you did not have to go back to work tomorrow Daddy but I know we will all do our best to continue with more wonderful days ahead!

A Walk in the Park
One Week Old!
Happy 1 Week Old Baby Bryn!
Our little Bryn continues to melt our hearts with her sweet and cuddly demeanor.
She has a very hearty appetite (wanting to eat every 1-2 hours), does not enjoy being burped and often spits up, loves the sound of her daddy's voice, and does not seem to be bothered one bit by the energy and loud sounds of her big brother. We weighed her while at the doctor yesterday and found out she was up 9 ounces from her previous weight check only 3 days before so all those feedings are paying off. We also were happy when she decided to sleep from 12:30-6am on Sunday night, then midnight to 5am this morning. We know these were random and rare occurrences this early on, but we fully enjoyed the uninterrupted rest!

Happy Anniversary
Today is a special day for us as we celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary and the one week birthday of our newest addition to the family. What an incredible journey it has been next to the strongest and most generous man I know. I am proud of our marriage, our family, and the way we have set out to conquer so many of our dreams and goals together. I can never say enough how lucky I feel to have Andrew, Bennett, and now Bryn.
Cheers to our 3 years, the ride it has been, and all that is yet to come!

18 Month Stats
Weight: 23 pounds (24%)
Height: 30.75 inches (31%)
Head: 84th percentile - slowly growing into it!
He was quite sad to receive his two shots, but was happy to recite his numbers with Daddy to calm himself through the tears once it was over. The doctor was quite impressed with his speaking skills and Bennett received 2 new books while we were there for being such a good boy.

Simple Saturday
Today we had a simple Saturday of mostly hanging at home and resting and nesting the day away. I had been battling a cold from the previous week and woke up this morning to see that it had gotten much worse and just seems to want to linger. Bryn wanted to sleep for most of the day and Bennett also decided to take a long nap so although we are not very good at it, Andrew and I did our best to relax while we could. It's been fun to re-visit the moments of the week where we went from a pregnant belly to a baby Bryn overnight. We loved our snuggly Saturday!

Day Three!
day 3 with my 3 favorites
People continue to check in with us to see how we are doing with the transition and arrival of a new baby this week and I am happy to say we are doing well!! I know and expect there to be stressful days ahead, but so far - with a lot of tag teaming and some chaos mixed in - we seem to be keeping everything on track and getting just enough sleep to get by. We have managed to sit down for family dinner the last 3 nights and have tried as much as possible to carry on in our usual manner only now with the lovely bonus of having Bryn to join in the ride. Today we had Bryn's check-up with the pediatrician and all went well. Since we left the hospital after only 24 hours, the doctor wanted us to come in after a few days so we could be sure Bryn was on the right track with her health. She had several admirers at the clinic and we were thankful to hear a good report from the pediatrician. We then took her on a sleepy but relaxing first Starbucks date with mom and dad then later she got to take her first family trip to good ole' Target - both places she will frequent often in this family I am sure.
Overall, life is wonderful on 'Day 3' because of my darling 3 above. I am so thankful to have them all!

Happy & Proud Big Brother
Bennett easily and quickly fell in love with his baby sister. It brought tears to my eyes hearing and seeing his excitement when he arrived at the hospital and started calling out "Lulu Lulu" when he came in the room and saw her in my arms. I will always remember it as one of my favorite moments. He is very gentle around her and makes a sad face when she cries and runs to her to ask if she is ok. I know he is going to be such a sweet and caring big brother with no shortage of kisses for her!
