Saturdays

Our Saturday was wonderful - a little shopping, some reading, a movie, a nap...the perfect time to take advantage of such things while we wait for Bob to make an appearance. Thanks to Joe and Heather for cooking a great meal for us tonight too! We always love hanging at their house for good conversation and good practice since they have two little ones. Isn't Lily adorable?

Mini Eggs

So last night after meeting Rob and Erin out for dinner at the Matador, we are on the way home and I felt I needed a bag of my all time favorite candy, Cadbury Mini Eggs. Well, these and M&Ms are a close tie. Every year I anticipate the arrival of the Easter candy because I know I just need to consume several pounds of these while they last. Anyway...we swung by the grocery store and they did not have any Easter candy out yet, still a little too early. But, when I asked the clerk she took one look at my belly and kindly asked.."Why, are you having a craving for these?" I laughed and said yes but that it was nothing unusal and I was probably better off without them. Just then she motioned to a worker down the aisle to check their inventory and see if they had a box in stock that just had not been on put out yet. Sure enough, we all located a box at the very top of one of the aisle shelves where they store extra food, so he wheeled over the giant ladder and got me a two pound bag. It was such a sweet gesture and made me so happy so I had to share it on the blog. I opened them before leaving the store since the guy had never tried them and I felt it was necessary that he also experience the wonderful flavor of this candy! It was a great way to end a fun night out! Ah, the little things in life.

The Turpins spent the night at our place on Friday. Andrew chauffered them out for a hot date as part of an Xmas present from the Turpin kids. We knew they had a great time and it was nice to just have them around to relax and laugh with!

With a 60+ temperature weekend, we hit some of our favorite parks of course!

Kellar does not get enough blog time

Porter is embarrassed because he was the target of a bird dropping

The Olympics are out in full effect this weekend. So beautiful and so wonderful to be able to get out and enjoy nature!
Looking forward to steaks on the grill tonight too!

Like I Said, We're Back

Now here are a few pictures from the past several months....it is a small attempt to make up for lost time. Although some of these may have been more noteworthy at the time, it gives a glimpse into what we have been doing or what we have looked like while doing it. Feels good to be back, although I feel like I have done the whole picture montage before to try to catch up, so I need to not get into the habit of doing that again. I read everyone else's blog on a regular basis so I just hope this can be half as interesting for others as their blogs are for me.

I guess I would consider these snapshots of just a few moments in time.

I just think Portie is so cute with socks on

How can one really summarize 8 months of life in one post? Not really something I can manage to convey properly, but it has been life as we know it, with all the laughter and some tears too. I do know one thing - we love our marriage, our families and our friends and these things make each day so special for us. Here's hoping I can keep up on the blog!

For Megan

I guess all I needed was a swift kick in the rear in the form of a blog comment from my friend Megan, one of the funniest and most consistent bloggers I know, to get me back in the swing of things. Now really, it was a nice reminder but I have known for some time that Turpin Times would eventually need to return. What better time than now to rekindle an old blog. I can't possibly recapture every moment since the last post in May, but I will say we have had very full days in the best possible of ways and have so much to be thankful for. Not to toot our horns, but I think we Turpins are pretty good at making the most of each day.
We have taken a few airplane rides to some great cities, attended some weddings, showers, parties, movies, nice dinners out, healthy dinners in, done local trips, and just plain shared a lot of unforgettable memories with each other, our friends, and our families. Not to mention we have suddenly reached 'Week 38' of this great adventure called pregnancy. I hear the adventure has only begun. To note and to update, we are due on 3/3 with a little son. The doctor currently predicts that he is at least a 7.5 pounder in my belly which has been ever so prominent from a very early stage. I have bonded with him so much already, I can't even imagine what it will be like to have him in my arms. He has taken no action on wanting to come into the world and meet everyone, so for now we continue (with the suspense looming) to work hard in preparation of his arrival (mostly in the mind and educating ourselves) and fit in as much time doing things in the "pre-baby" stage as we can. Life Is Good as I like to say. Thanks for sharing in our ride....

And yes, Turpin Times is back. I will do my best at sharing in the updates of our lives and try to keep it semi-exciting (hopefully we'll get some followers!)
