More Gardening

Andrew and Bennett were able to get the vegetable garden started tonight, and Bennett enjoyed the getting dirty part as well as painting some garden rocks to add as his final touch.  The yard is really coming along!

The Zoo!

We've had a great weekend with pizza night, seeing friends for a barbecue, and doing some indoor projects to stay busy from the rain! Since it cleared up this morning, we thought a trip to the zoo was in order! Bennett could not have been more excited to see some animal friends and was laughing and talking to all of them.  He had fun telling Bryn who all the animals were too, especially when he imitated their sounds and made her laugh.  We also made a stop at the attached amusement park so Bennett, who is completely obsessed with cars and trucks, could take a few rides on the kiddie cars and horse carriages.  Each time he went around the circle and passed us, he would exclaim, "I'm SUPER fast!", then would scrunch his face up and focus quietly on going around again until he saw us, which had us laughing out loud.  It was a great family Sunday!

Planting Flowers for Mom

Bennett and Daddy found an open space in one of our garden beds and planted some of my favorite flowers tonight while Bryn and I chatted from a blanket on the sidelines.  Bennett is turning into a fine little gardener as he loves the dirt, loves to complete tasks, and also loves to wear those giant garden gloves.  His help will sure come in handy when we plant the vegetable garden soon!

Being Outside

I love these spring evenings....getting outside for laughter and exercise, then grilling out on the back patio - the simple things. Happy smiles to all!

Thanks, Winona!

We wanted to enjoy this gorgeous day, so we made a stop at Garvin Heights and followed it up with a little picnic at the lake before heading back from Winona today.  Thanks to our family for the good times and special thanks to Nana and Jay for letting us invade your home!

Hammock Time

The hammock has always been a favorite at Nana's house, and I think sweet little Bryn would agree!

So Much Fun in Winona!

We spent the whole weekend in Winona with my family and had so much fun! We arrived in time for dinner on Friday night, then after settling in, Nana and Jay were so kind to watch the kids so we could head out for a fun evening with my brothers and some friends.  We had more fun with the whole family again on Saturday when we all hit the lake for some family-friendly Earth Day activities, which included games, animals, an instrument corner, and some live music. Bennett loved being able to share in all the fun with his Nana and uncles (at one point he looked up at me and said, "Mama, I love uncles!").  It turned chilly and drizzly later that evening, so we grilled up some tasty food and spent the rest of the evening entertaining the kids and relaxing at Nana's house!
