Date with Daddy

Bryn and Dad had a little date night at Noodles followed by a trip to the book store for a new book tonight.  They were quite the cute couple as they were leaving, and then all giddy when they got home. Bryn brought a cookie home for Bennett, who had a mellow evening with me and got to pick out his own dinner (he chose waffles, apple slices, a piece of string cheese, and milk).

Bennett's First Time Ice Skating!

We enjoyed some time at Centennial Lakes this morning, with Bennett full of excitement for his first time ice skating! It was a great experience - he was cautious, curious, and very eager to keep going all at once.  He loved showing Bryn what he was doing and keeps reminding us that he wants to go again soon!

It was such a Minnesota day for us as we followed this up with hot chocolate at the coffee shop, swimming fun that evening and a pot of homemade creamy chicken wild rice soup and cornbread for a cozy, late, Sunday dinner.  As Bennett said to me earlier -  "this is my kind of day!!"

My Sweet Boy

Tonight during our bedtime routine, I got an extra big hug for my belly, followed by my sweet boy saying, "I love you and I love your baby in your belly."  Then more kisses.  So sweet.

Bryn loves going in her drawer, pulling out all the clothes, snuggling with them, then putting them on any way she can to walk laps around the house and show off her new 'outfit.'

Saturday Projects

Today we worked on rearranging the kids' rooms with our two little helpers.  Bennett got a new bed so we could turn his convertible bed back into a crib for the new baby, who will bunk with Big Sister Bryn in the "girls' room" ( I love saying that!).  We were overdue on getting him a new bed anyway, and since it all fit into our schedule now, we figured why not get it all done? Bennett's room got a little makeover and the girls' room is officially ready several weeks ahead of the plan (minus some minor necessary closet re-org), all without taking up too much extra space!  We love how it all turned out and so does our cozy little reader!

Cookies & Milk Picnic

Date Night at the Malt Shop

Bennett and I had the perfect date at the malt shop tonight. We ate grilled cheese and french fries before splitting a chocolate malt.  Needless to say, we loved our time together in that little red booth, and he devoured every last drop of that malt!

Aquatots!

Bryn had her first ever official swimming lesson tonight and honestly was all smiles!  We know she loves the water so we were pretty certain that this would be the perfect activity for her and Daddy - and it was!!

Big Boy!

Our silly, funny, charming, and very energetic little boy officially started the Pre-School program at his daycare today.  His transition was great so we have no doubt that this boy will continue to move mountains in so many ways!!

Swim Lessons!

Our Sunday and Monday nights are now booked with swim class for the kids.  It works out great as we do crockpot Sundays for winter, so dinner is ready and waiting when we get home later (tonight it was Andrew's delicious chicken chili!)  Bennett's class was tonight, although he was way more interested in the kiddie pool than participating in class over in the large pool since that is what he is accustomed to doing. 

He loves the water regardless, so we'll see how next week goes!

We had friends over for dinner tonight and Bennett and Esme sure enjoyed their cookies and ice cream dessert together.  Later they did not hold back on giving each other big, strong hugs to say goodbye!

The Tickle Monster Book

My mom got all the grandchildren the Tickle Monster laughter kit/book for Christmas and these guys love it.  Bennett often wears the tickle paws around and mostly makes his sister laugh with them.  There's a lot of laughter when this book comes out before bedtime!

Our Family

Bennett has been getting into drawing pictures of our family lately and is getting pretty precise about how he does it.  He has to do it in a certain order - head first, then eyes, then body, etc. and becomes quite focused.  Here's the family on a truck in the rain!

Arboretum

We always find places to get out for family walks and we try not to let winter get in the way of that.  This morning we visited the Arboretum (we received a membership as a family gift from Santa this year - I love it there!) which was chilly but actually felt good in the morning sunshine.  Then we all went out for a soup and sandwich lunch to warm up! Great Sunday morning!

These two are definitely snow lovers.  Bryn will cheer and clap when you pull her on the sled and Bennett  giggles the whole time.  Winter fun!

It's A......GIRL!!

  This morning our ultrasound revealed that our third bundle of joy will be a little GIRL!!

It came as a small surprise to us but at the same time of course feels exactly as its supposed to!

The baby checked out healthy today and sure knows how to move.  She reminded me of Bryn immediately and I knew for certain that it was a girl before the tech even told us.  

Andrew surprised us with fancy pink champagne cupcakes after dinner (yes we love those around here but make up for it with plenty of healthy food!) so we gave a special cupcake toast to our newest baby girl and her two big siblings and gave thanks for her health and all the laughter and happiness she will surely bring to our family.  I can hardly wait to meet this sweet little one and have all of my babies together!
