Happy Halloween!

Cookies & Cuddling with Nana

My mom came up to join us for the day which was MUCH appreciated! She brought lunch and treats for all then spent the day entertaining one very energetic toddler and cuddling with little Bryn. Bennett and Nana baked pumpkin cut-outs for all of us and we could not stop eating them throughout the day - yum! Thanks Mom for being here!

Pumpkin Carving

Andrew carved a vampire, I made a mummy and her baby, and Bennett used his painting skills for our pumpkin decorating session tonight. What fun we had!

Boo Blast

Today we took the kids to Boo Blast where Bennett was able to trick or treat through all the local businesses and get some chocolate for his mama. He was really into carrying a piece of candy around in each hand and instead of taking a piece from someone holding out their basket full of treats, he would usually set one of his own into it, look up, and kindly say goodbye.

This morning the kids and I went to Nova and Vance's house for our weekly play date.

Leaning in for a Kiss

These two kiddos certainly have grown to be very aware of each other and its a joy watching their relationship bloom at such a young age. I don't think Bennett has ever turned down an opportunity to kiss his little Lulu and he has made it a habit to add that kiss to his bed time and goodbye rituals without any reminders from us. I love watching this sibling love grow.

Fall Festival

Let Halloween week begin! Today Bennett got all dressed up in his lion costume and we headed to our neighborhood's annual family fall festival. There was live music, kiddie games, pumpkin painting, and horse carriage rides for all. One of the cutest moments of the day was when Bennett saw himself in the mirror for the first time with his costume on (the first two pics above). He was so very happy and thought it was so much fun to be all dressed up. He had a great time playing some games today, running around in the grass, and roaring like a friendly little lion. We didn't forget about our little pumpkin Bryn - we skipped getting her actual costume on for today as we knew she would prefer to sleep through the whole event, but she will get to join in the Halloween costume fun later this week of course!

Down by the River

We cannot get enough of the outside air on these gorgeous fall days. We played and strolled along the river for a couple of hours this morning under this awesome sunshine. We are happy to see that Bryn seems to have inherited a love of being outdoors just like her brother and parents and has always been quite content on all of our walks when the breeze and sunshine kiss her face. We are glad there have been many sunny days since her birth so we've been able to be outside with her a bunch. Bennett made several friends on the bridge today with his smiles, high fives, and continuous "hellos" to passers-by. After filling up on river time, we headed out for some lunch before heading home and getting the kids down for some late naps. A great Saturday morning!
