Picnic at the Park

 

This morning was Bennett's choice for our summer activity - he chose a playground at the lake and also wanted a picnic lunch so that's just what we did! We had lots of time on the slides (Norah loves them!) and after fueling up on lunch, everyone wanted to do even more exploring so we had a nice walk before heading home for naps!

The girls' school hosted a summer party for all the families tonight - the slide and pool were a big hit of course! 

So Big!

 

Yes, she is getting so big!! Our Norah sure is pure fun and happiness these days! She is enjoying life and fully embracing everything there is to do and learn! (aka hard to keep up with!)  Some of her words include: "I di dat!" (I did it!), apple, flower, thank you, yum!, purple, oh hi!..... she is a sponge! She can say "Brynnie" pretty well too! She loves to dance, loves blankets, the water, loves being outside on walks, and loves just being a part of it all! Big girl!

Snack Time

 

Bryn asked for a blanket, pretzels, and water for her and big brother, then set up a picnic spot all on her own for snack time this afternoon. Oh, their chatter and laughter is a joy to watch!

New Swing

We finally swapped out one piece of the old swingset for a new baby swing for Norah.  She loves it and big bro and sis loved giving her many pushes in it today.  She can now get her daily dose of swinging in (seems we are always out here!), just like the big kids!

Bennett knew and vocalized that this was the summer where he would start riding without training wheels (he's a total planner like me).  He's been asking for close to two weeks if we would take off the training wheels, but we just had to make that little block of time work where Andrew and I could both be there to see it for the first time.  We all headed to a nearby grass field today and I had no idea (as heard in my reaction) that he would just take off and ride! But he did!  After three successful runs in the grass, he hit the paved trail and was just fine. We were so proud of him and he was proud too, but at the same time it's like he just knew he could do it so he wasn't that surprised.  How do they grow up so fast? It started to rain on us after a couple more short rides, so we all made a mad dash to the car (picture all of us in a quick downpour plus bike, tricyle, and baby scooter in tow) and headed out for ice cream to celebrate everyone's fun on wheels! I see more practice bike rides for the week ahead!

Camping Trip with Dad

 

 How cute are these four year olds? Bennett and his buddy Esme got to take a special camping trip with just the dads!! They headed out this morning, ready for some fishing, beach time, and s'mores! We sure miss them but there is no doubt they are having a blast!
